If you didn’t know (well actually if you didn’t know you should question what you are doing with your life) Kanye West was the musical guest last night on Saturday Night Live. I haven’t watched SNL in a little over a month due to work but when I was able to leave early I knew what I had to do. A lot of fans were wondering what new songs Kanye West was going to perform and that question was answered before the show ended at 1 a.m. Those two songs being “Black Skinhead” and “New Slaves”. Kanye seems to be taking a more conscious approach to his music similar to what he started to do in the beginning of his career. Some people don’t like these new songs, but when you have millions of followers it is bound to happen. Just know that Kanye West would “rather be a dick than a swallower”. Yeezy Season. Continuing on with today’s theme we have Kanye West performing his heart out at the coachella in 2011. As he closes out the night he does a tribute to his mother with “Hey Mama” off of his Late Registration album. As you all know Kanyes mother passed away a few years ago so it must be tough to do a song like this. You can kind of see it and hear it in his voice as he cracks here and there. Kanye West tweeted not to long ago “June Eighteen”. Now I know it seems kind of silly to make news of this but when it comes to music artist tweeting future dates, it’s hard not to. Most are hoping this is the day he releases his newest album. Of course it could be a bunch of other things such as releasing a new song, possibly releasing a new single for the album, or maybe it has something to do with him and Kim Kardashian. It has been reported that Kanye’s legal team has threatened KanyeToThe.com with legal action for its use of “Kanye” trademark. If you didn’t know, KanyeToThe.com is a Kanye West fan site known for its popular forum. The owner has said no matter what it has to do the site will not be taken down. I have been a member of the site for 6 months and I can say from experience that this website produces many laughs as well has many very intelligent conversations. I will not also be surprised to find out that a few lives have been saved or a real life situation has been easier for a member to go through due to the freedom to vent and receive advice and support from other members on the website. It has been updated within the past few minutes that the owner has received a “promising” email from Kanye’s camp. Hopefully this is true because this much more than a Kanye West fan site, it is a family. I will keep you up to date as new information comes through. To support you can get things like #ProtectKTT #SaveKTT to trend on Twitter and even join the website to support as well.

Kanye recently showcased his new short film “Cruel Summer” at this years Cannes film festival. A normal theatre isn’t capable of housing a Kanye creation so he commissioned the architectural firm OMA to create a pavilion that’s dope enough for his 7 screen experience. Imaginative. The same kind of work went into creating our jumbotron.
